Officers

President  Mike McVay

If I am to serve as guild president, I agree to:

* Act in a professional manner regarding confidentiality of guild information and discussions.
* Be of good character in all business dealings both inside and outside the guild.
* Take part in meetings: Contribute to online meetings and consider topics under discussion during online or regular scheduled in person meetings.
* Write an article for each newsletter.
* Act in accordance with state law and all CCSG adopted bylaws regarding this position
Call and organize all required and special meetings, including an agenda, with enough advance notice and at a location that will allow all OFFICERS and DIRECTORS to attend.

Represent the Guild HONESTLY in dealing with the public or special interests. The PRESIDENT may not make or change policy, change the minutes, alter bylaws, sign contracts or accept commissions without consent of the Board of Directors.

All overtures, offers, commissions and contacts of interest that result from being an officer of the Guild must be reported to the Board of Directors in a timely manner.

The PRESIDENT should also have the responsibility of organizing fund raisers for the Guild. (There are many ways to go with this and there's no need to incorporate the process with the job description.)

The PRESIDENT and all other OFFICERS are APPOINTED by the BOARD OF DIRECTORS, and may be dismissed by them.

Vice President  Bruce Thorsteinson

If I am to serve as guild Vice President I agree to:

* Act in a professional manner regarding confidentiality of guild information and discussions.
* Be of good character in all business dealings both inside and outside the guild.
* Take part in meetings: Contribute to online meetings and consider topics under discussion during online or regular scheduled in person meetings.
* Write an article for each newsletter.
* Act in accordance with state law and all CCSG adopted bylaws regarding this position
Substitute for the President when the President is not available.

Perform Presidential Duties when the President fails or refuses to do so, including calling meetings and establishing an agenda.

Keep the actions of the Officers, as they apply to the Guild, within the bounds of the Law. This will require an awareness of the rule of law as spelled out in the Washington State Legal Code (24.03 RCW).

Assist the President in fund raising projects as much as possible.

Sign a copy of the Job Description to acknowledge an awareness of the responsibilities of the position.

Secretary/Treasure  Susan Miller

Due to my longtime association with Cascade Chainsaw Sculptors Guild, I will be happy to serve as secretary/treasurer until another board member is willing to take on one or both of these responsibilities. In doing so, I will act in accordance with the CCSG adopted bylaws and do the following:
As secretary, I will keep copies of meeting minutes including those provided from meetings which I’m unable to attend. I’ll also keep copies of guild correspondence and guild adopted organizational papers and documents.
In the treasurer’s capacity, I’ll provide financial reports to the board, write board-approved checks, and take part in the budgeting process. Not being a Washington Resident, I will not be able to act as the state registered agent for CCSG.
It will be necessary to have close communication with Amy, the newsletter editor, to keep us both up to date with our membership list.
It isn’t mentioned in the bylaws, but I will also manage our two forums, “Carvers on the Edge” which is an open forum, and our CCSG board forum.
CCSG is moving forward, with new interest and new board members, and I’m glad to have contributed what I could over the years and will help in the future as time permits..
