Comments As it was VERY hot, promoters were very good about offering
water, pop, etc. Generally poor auction prices put a bit of a wet
blanket on a fun comp. Asked several times after the event for copy of scoresheet but never got one. |

Added Comment Hi Amy, I filled out the poll & signed it. I just wanted
to clarify my answer that I thought the judging at Oshkosh was poor. I
should have said something in the comment section, but it slipped my
mind. I've only done 2 comps, so I'm a newbie at them, but something
didn't seem right about that one with judges going around once, then
huddling, then some going back around and apparently changing their
minds and rescoring some pieces. It's not sour grapes my part, I (and
others) thought it looked strange and some of the results really came
out strange. I was told later that the local judge threw a monkey wrench
in everything by giving the local carver top scores when the piece
wasn't that great. That's all I'm going to say about it. Thanks,
